The company that owns Tamil movies website TamilFilmsOnline.com has confirmed that the website will remain online.
“We are committed to the service of the Tamil community, the site has been the main platform for Tamil films online since its inception,” the company said in a statement.
TamilfilmsOnline is currently operating as a joint venture between the Tamils of the city of Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu.
Tamils have traditionally been a minority in Tamil society and were denied the right to vote.
In 2010, the government announced that the Tamil language would be taught as an official language at all schools.
Tamalikam was granted a statehood status, but there have been no guarantees that Tamils will have full access to the state language.
Tamiling cinema owners have been fighting for their rights to the Tamuli language for more than two decades.
The Tamil language has a long history and has been spoken for millennia by Tamils.
It was the language of many of the indigenous tribes of Tamil Nadu, where it is still spoken today.
