Shrek movie, the animated Disney film, has been downloaded more than 7 million times worldwide since its December release.
But that number has fallen to less than 4 million since January, with a number of movie streaming services such as Netflix and YouTube blocking its download.
A Twitter user identified as @Lionheart posted a screenshot of the “Shrek” movie on the Israeli website Tel Aviv Film Festival.
The tweet was taken on Friday morning.
“The movie’s online downloads have been dropping in recent days.
I can confirm this.
If you want to watch the movie, you need to be on a VPN.
You can download it from the VPN portal at https://tve-pf.live.co.il/index.php/shrek-movie-online/ , and you will see a download limit of 2GB,” he said.
A search of the Twitter account shows that the movie has been available on more than a dozen VPNs since it was released in December.
“I would recommend downloading the movie from a VPN,” he wrote.
“You don’t have to worry about a lot of people downloading it on VPNs.
You will get better results.”
A Twitter account associated with the Shrek franchise, @ShrekTheMovie, was also set to play a key role in the ongoing debate over what constitutes fair use.
Shrek The Movie, which stars Scarlett Johansson as the titular character, was a massive success in the United States in 2015 and 2016, but its box office success in China has raised questions about whether the film could have benefited from foreign rights.
“When the movie hits in China, there’s going to be a lot more people going online and watching it,” Mr. Juhasz said.
“There’s a lot less people watching the movie in China than in the U.S. So there’s a huge amount of traffic and there’s no way it’s going back.”
The Shrek the Movie website has also been blocked in many parts of China.
In the Middle Kingdom, it is the only source of access for users in the capital, Beijing, which has been hit by torrential downpours in recent months.
In South Korea, the site has also fallen out of use in recent weeks, although it is still available for users with a VPN or proxy service.
The Middle Kingdom has a large film industry and a relatively large number of foreign films, including The Lord of the Rings and The Jungle Book, but many users in other parts of the country rely on proxies and VPNs to watch online.
“They don’t get the movie,” Mr JuhASz said of the Chinese government.
“That’s their problem.
They don’t care about the movie.
They’re just trying to block it.”
